I took the tube from central London going north, got off at Swiss Cottage Station and around the corner, just a few steps away, was the Hampstead Theatre. It's that easy to find this wonderful theatre. It attracts stars from the West End, t.v. and film and the productions are excellent. I sat upstairs this time which was uncomfortable after... More

It's some time since we last visited Hampstead Theatre and our visit this time reminded us how pleasant the building - the stalls have good ,comfy seats and excellent views of the stage . I had some doubts about the play ( Wild Honey ) before we went but it turned out to be an excellent one - early Chekov... More

When I used to go to school in Swiss Cottage in the 1960s, the theatre occupied a very temporary looking hut. This remained standing and in use until 2003, when a lovely, interestingly designed new theatre replaced it. Almost every seat in the auditorium has good sightlines. There is a good rake so that you need not worry about tall... More

This is not a review about a play as they are inevitably variable in quality. This is a review about the theatre and in particular the seating which is possibly the worst and most uncomfortable that I have ever experienced in a theatre. Because of its "interesting" construction the seats are arranged so that those not directly facing the stage... More

We saw Labyrinth which was rather predictable and not the most exciting play, we were rather bored in truth though it was well executed. The seats I had booked P9 and 10, £30 each, so their 2nd most expensive seats, were not comfortable, little leg room, rigid backs with a high bar in front (which as they were 2nd row... More

Great theatre cafe with texting actors behind the bar. Catch site of Tasmin Rupert Ray D and other lovies whilst sipping a Latte or Sauvi Blanc.

I'm from the local area, and sometimes the theatre works out as a nice place to hang out with or without friends - the cafe however is overpriced.

The location is great right outside the underground swiss cottage stop. Nice quite neighborhood. You don't have to go to the West End area to see superb theater. The actors and actresses played their parts very well. The staff is friendly helpful. I love that there is a delicious cafe in the lobby area.

I've been coming to Hampstead Theatre since the days I was roped in as a teenager to help with kids shows. The graduation from a 100 seat portakabin to the stunning theatre of today was dramatic. So, it's a north London institution - but no institution just a gets a free pass - it has to produce work to a... More

Great location, literally a stones throw from the tube. We booked our tickets over the phone, the staff were extremely helpful and the process for collection was smooth! We were in the main theatre in the stalls, from what I could see all the tickets had good views due to the size and structure of the seating plan! The stage... More
