Fit for royalty! Attended a black tie event, and was left bedazzled! Ambience was just out of this world! England is rich in culture, and none was left to imagination.. The food was superb too! Would definitely accept another invite! Lol!

Brilliant tour with a cheeky chappie house manager. He kept the tour light and amusing with lots of bite size information on the rooms. Beautifully decorated with any number of chandeliers and some amazing art work! That was great..thank you!

I would recommend a visit to the Mansion House to tourists who have already seen the major London sights. Tube: Mansion House. This is the residence and work space of the Lord Mayor of the City of London. It is open only on Tuesdays at 2 pm and can only be visited on the guided tour. I was most impressed... More

Definitely worth going for the tour as the Mansion House has been an integral part of the London scene for several centuries. There is something to interest everyone here. Although you may have seen the Chancellor's Mansion House speech on TV it is great to be able to stand in the room and appreciate its beauty and significance. Very photogenic... More

The Mansion House is a rare surviving Georgian town palace in London. With its magnificent interiors and elegant furniture, the Mansion House provides the Lord Mayor of the City of London with living, working and entertainment space. Perhaps the most famous events at Mansion House are the dinners and banquets. Tours for groups from 1 to 40 persons in number... More

If you ever have the chance to visit London's Mansion House you shouldn't pass it up. This is a beautiful Georgian building filled with highly impressive, mainly Dutch Masters, artworks. The public rooms are a sight to behold, including the Long Parlour, Drawing Rooms and the magnificent Egyptian Hall.

One of the lesser known and less accessible than many of the attractions in the City but well worth the hour guided tour available once a week for up to 40 individuals. On the Tuesday we visited there were about 20 of us. Our guide knew her stuff and we could take photographs without flash whilst she explained the many... More

First a warning about visiting The Mansion House. This is only open for one hour a week on a Tuesday and then not every Tuesday. It is best to check, even if you plan to visit on a Tuesday, as things can change at short notice and they can only take a maximum of 40 visitors at a time -... More

Really enjoyed the guided tour of the Mansion House We queued outside at 1.45pm on a Tuesday afternoon paid our money[only £7.50 or £5.00 concessions] and then went through security. The guide was informative and interesting. The building is beautiful and we were fortunate to see the Egyptian room laid out for a banquet .

If you can go & visit this venue, then just go. Our guide, John Davies was excellent, so knowledgeable and funny with it. To understand about the multi use of the place and the tasks that the Lord Mayor has to fulfil, plus just to see the chandeliers, the rooms, the furniture. I could go on & on. You go... More

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
