The Thames

One of the main rivers that connect London. There are a lot of conducted tours operating on the Thames. The boat ride is very enjoyable.

It is the river that brought everything to London. From attacking ships to merchendise. From emigrants to/from other worlds to rare things. It is a great feast to experiment it. Amazing views from shores or from the river. Great photo opportunities.

This is the river which provides water to London. there are a lot of ferries which offer boat rides up & down the Thames. You can go from London to Greenwich or you can just relax on the riverside & take scenic photos

The 346 km long river , the second largest in UK is the life line of England. The people of England love the river and it has become a part of its life.

Having been born in London and living in Maidenhead, Marlow, Windsor areas most of my life, I just love this beautiful river and all the places along it .... not just London. Fishing as a kid, boat trips and parties, simply fab. And if it is London you're in, well, both banks provided flat even walking and breath taking views!!... More

I like to go alongside the rivers and the Bankside is an ideal place to enjoy the river. If you want to enjoy it on the water, try Thames Clippers, the ships had many stops by the river. We try the London Eye to see the river from other view, than this is another possibility to enjoy the river.

Bankside is the best part of the Thames to walk along. Lots to see and loads of cafes and restaurants especially by the globe theatre

Stayed in Bankside along river for 5 nights recently. Not knowing London all that well I use the river to help me navigate city. I also spent two mornings running along side it and it was wonderful. With the paths and sidewalks up and down it, it was a great way to see city and get exercise

This is best enjoyed on a short cruise. You can enjoy the beautiful buildings and learn about their history. Thames is a bit dirty but not smelly. I think its best at night with all the lights shining on the water.

Staying in Southbank

Neighbourhood Profile
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
