As with all National Trust properties this is a great place to visit. With the very helpful staff who were well versed on the history and artefacts on show.

Visited on a weekday lunchtime on a steamy hot sunny day. The walks around the extended grounds and lake were superb. We stopped off at the courtyard restaurant afterwards and, despite a long queue, it was a lovely place to eat - and the staff...More

On a very hot day aged parents couldn't make the most of a visit to the Hall or the many walks, but made it from the car park as far as The Squires Pantry for lunch. Well laid out with large sunshades over the outside...More

Interesting stately home - culture & elegance for those committed to the good things of life. You've seen Downtown Abbey - now see the real thing - in another time & place

What an amazing discovery, great house full of history... and the outdoors simply great with different circuits ( short and long) were you can enjoy the countryside, fresh air & the farm animals. Dogs are welcome, an experience to repete.

As is usual with all National Trust sites it is well worth a visit with all areas steeped in history with staff on hand to explain the very interesting points. The café and food is very reasonable. The grounds are worth exploring.

Why has the Hall recently changed it's policy and allowed dogs into the restaurant. Does this mean there is nowhere to eat if you are not happy with this?

I am not happy with this myself as allergic to dogs ! Owners also continually pet them and hair floats in the air ... There is outdoor seating, but obviously for the likes of us now and not the dogs !!
