A good selection of local history and art in an historic castle with nice gardens. Try the cafe too.

We used the late entry visit for the last hour, not enough time to appreciate everything and deserve a full time slot but for a flash visit, fun, educational and some lovely exhibits... Thanks castle thanks

Full day of interesting stuff to see in the castle. The keep is excellent to explore. The dungeon is full of history and an amazing guide. Lots of exhibitions and so much to see.

The Castle is well worth visiting because of its well preserved state which gives a good understanding of how the building was used. There were a lot of activities for children to be ‘hands on’.
