£5 entry fee, but there is so much to see here. You are presented with a laminated map so you don't miss out on anything. Loads of fossils, local historical curiosities, jet, animal specimens, naval and marine artifacts and things brought back from the many voyages from Whitby harbour. Great for people like me who are nosey!

Whitby museum is worth its entry fee and more. It is the classic municipal museum, but full of special things. It is in a way it is its own best exhibit. It has of course a serious fossil collection, an incredible jet selection, good collection of model boats. It also has a genuine touch of the ghoulish - a hand... More

Dimly lit, but not dusty, this museum displays such an eclectic collection of artifacts, natural history, and fossils that it defies classification. Go, and be amazed, and amused, and enlightened. So enjoyable.

So much stuff to see in such a small place. Lots of different areas of interest to keep you entertained. The 'hand of glory' is bizarre, but has to be seen. Well worth the entrance fee.

There's a great variety of things to see here, from the amazing fossils to bird life, boat models and just about everything else associated with the local area, the staff are also very helpful and there's a nice little cafeteria on site. The park and gardens are well worth a wander round.

Although a bit of a climb from the harbour, this museum rewards its vistor with an interesting insight to whitby and its history. Together with this is an art gallery again depicting some of Whitbys history. Clearly in need of some internal modernisation, this does not detract from the many interesting exhibits. Do allow plenty of time to absorb this... More

Brilliant, it hasn't changed. Loved it at the age of 8, it's still great now. Worth a visit, whatever your age.

If you have a couple of hours to spare in Whitby, the museum in Pannet Park is a must. It is full of interesting items, such as rare examples of fossils, a display of Whitby jet jewellery, marine history and natural history. There is also an art gallery on site with different exhibitions running. A proper traditional museum that is... More
