This museum commemorates probably the most important battle the British army has ever fought, and it does it with care and proffesionalism. We found this museum by chance, just called into the Imphal Barracks on another matter and were told about it by a security guard. For info, the barracks are situated on the A19 at Fulford, on the right, (travelling into York), alongside the Police Headquarters. This Museum is hidden away inside the army barracks and we only noticed it because of the sign outside. Although we had to go through security, it was well worth the time. This is a very small museum which deals with a critical battle in India during WW2. The staff were very helpful and knowledgable. Entry is free and the... More
