If you live in York and you get to walk through these gardens on way to work, you are very lucky. Well tended lawns wide array of trees. Lovely shrubs . Take it in as part of a walk to the Minster and over the river. Look at my photos, better than words!

Lovely place to wander around on a nice day. We spend a few hours here on a sunny Saturday and had a picnic and an ice cream. Very busy but enough space to relax in.

Such a beautiful, peaceful spot in busy York. St Mary's Abbey ruins holds something magical and the borders are immaculately kept.

Set within the grounds of St Anne's Abbey ruins this is a beautiful tranquil garden from which you can hide from the hustle and bustle of the traffic and view the river Ouse.

The museum gardens are well maintained and free to visit but the setting which incorporates the ruins of St Mary's Abbey makes it special. A great place to unwind on a sunny afternoon. Can get busy!

What a lovely place to waste away some time. Although it was pretty busy, we could still find a nice quiet spot to relax at, watching the river.

Beautifully maintained and colourful. Lots of flowers and places to lie in the sun, walk round the gardens or just stop and have a bit to eat. A lovely setting close to the river too.

I love going to the Museum Gardens, loads of flowers and other plants, the old leftovers of St. Mary's Abbey, the big Yorkshire Museum and a lot of squirrels!
