It was a beautiful sunny day so we took a break in the beautiful gardens. There was a birds of prey exhibit, the beautiful abbey and lots of great people watching. Nice gift shop too!

A pleasant green space in the city, perfect for a picnic and a bit of history too. Worth a wander if the city gets too busy!

Beautiful gardens to stroll and take lovely photos. A great place to sit on a bench and let the day go by.

Lovely, spacious gardens which make a welcome retreat away from the crowds in town. There are sometimes little events/activities on, for example the last time I went there was a display of owls on. There is plenty of space and a squirrel or two!

Beside the river with Roman walls and gorgeous trees and flowers, this is heaven in summer, so pretty and well maintained, a credit to the city.

From Bootham turn into Marygate and turn right just before the Bay Horse into the car park. After leaving your car return to Marygate and the entrance to the gardens is adjacent to St Olave's Church. There are no toilets... More
