Too tiered to go around as it was at the end of the day, but we agree it would have been a nice place to visit.

Lovely house and gardens. Well worth a visit! The house is full of lovely rooms (lots of mock Tudor decoration) and the gardens have fantastic views of the Minster. Wish the other National Trust sites were in the city of York rather than outside of...More

This is the first time in York and as a Trust member it was a great visit and we have been to many houses over the past 18 years.

Gem of a building in the shadows of York Minster. The beautiful peaceful garden is immaculately kept and has a variety of flowering plants.

Very interesting house with a good 'ghost story' in the cellar (excellent story-teller). Nice trails for children to follow with sticker rewards

This is definitely worth a visit. The building's history is really interesting, and the decoration and historic modifications are fascinating.

You can purchase on line. I highly recommend if you are going to visit several attractions getting the one day York city pass from the visit York tourism shop by the Minster. Will save you money. Only good for the day.
