This lovely park is just a short walk away from York. We enjoy exploring the park, looking at the ducks and ducklings, the sculptures and generally wandering.

What a pleasant surprise to find this lovely park right on the edge of the hustle and bustle of York city. To find it and take a break from the mania that is York, follow the Ouse along from the Castle out of the town...More

What a well kept and hidden gem of a park. Tucked away on the river bank this was a lovely evening walk for us 2. Round by the kids playground and up and over the millennium bridge, it was lovely. There is a small cafe...More

I don't live far from the park. It's great for sunbathing, chilling and walks. Pretty clean, sometimes grass can be a bit messy from ducks, but that's understandable. I believe there is drinks and ice-cream vans for children too. Great for sports

Lots to do, tennis courts, skate park, basketball court and pingpong tables, along with lots of play areas for smaller children There's also a good coffee bar/library - just a shame most of it is spoilt by the geese.

If you visit York you have to spend an hour in Rowntree Park. A 5 minute walk from the city centre and if you have children they'll love it. The park has a lake in the centre and it's very own colony of geese, ducks...More

Abbey had fun in the park, even with bad weather, plenty of space and things to play with. You could spend hours here on a hot day

Peaceful and pretty park near the river and a short walk from the city centre. They have done a good job reducing the number of intrusive geese - and their droppings!! - so it is now safe to walk around it without staring at the...More

Hi - I have never seen a barbecue being used here and there isn't a special area.

If you park in Hospital Fields (on a Saturday or Sunday) you can park on the road for free and access the park near the Millennium Bridge. Hope that helps.
