Recently beautifully restored stained glass window after the original was destroyed in the great fire caused by lightning over 30 years ago. Wonderful work by leading glass specialists. Well worth viewing from both outside and inside.

It is really amazing just how colourful and beautiful this window is and that so much colour is incorporated into the design in such a spectacular way

The glazing is really beautiful and worth seeing. They are still cleaning some windows and you can really see the difference.

This is one of the famous windows in York Minster which you access through either paid admission or look from the outside. It’s a magnificent piece of stained glass

This window is only one of the medieval glass window masterpieces in this Minster. The East window has recently been totally renovated and there is much else to see for all the family

York Minster is a beautiful building with absolutely stunning architecture. The Rose Window is one of the highlights. It's very intricate and detailed, well worth making the effort to look for it.

This is worth a look by itself. Beautiful and a true work of art. You can imagine the skill that went into its creation.

Quite magnificent. The whole of York minster is wonderful but the rose window should be on the list of things to visit for anyone going to York as a tourist.

Had the good fortune to attend a Recital at the Minster on a cloudless evening; the sunset lit up The Rose Window in a way I've never seen before. But you don't have to wait for an evening like that - it's a wonderful sight...More

The rebuilding of the rose window is an incredible story and told well by the guides and exhibition. I highly recommend joining one of the tours that start at the entrance. Once you have purchased your entry ticket, the tour itself is free.
