Easy to get to plenty of nearby parking Wheel chair friendly. Bar and snacks and confectionery. Seating is top class no obstacles to spoil your view. Recommend this theatre.

Brilliant live comedy in an intimate 150 seat venue. Highly recommended and a great night out. The bar gets a bit busy at the interval and more staff would be helpful.

We are fans of the Derngate. It's foyer is bright, airy and modern. We have seen various pantomimes and 'regular' shows here over the years. Love the fact that you can have a box to yourself if you book early enough, and it's cheaper than...More

Went with the family recently for a performance. Always made welcome and staff try really hard to be helpful and pleasant. Already booked for 2 more events. One in each theatre. I do love the Royal and it's Victorian roots. It has such a special...More

Excellent show amazed not a sell out. Facilities excellent as ever and staff very helpful. The people of Northampton should embrace this facility more as we are very lucky to have it.

What a great theatre; wonderful first visit to see The Adams Family. Apart from being a truly polished musical the atmosphere was brilliant and the theatre space contributed to the excellent acoustics. It is a theatre to rival any London venue. For anyone wanting to...More

I would say all seats have a good view of the stage so I wouldn't worry

I have seen seats in the upper level boxes at the Derngate Theatre - restricted view: partial and also restricted view: bar stools. Do you have any experience of seating in those. If so, please let me know what the view was like in either of those seat types. Also if it being restricted spoiled your enjoyment of the show in any way. Thanks. :-)

Hi unfortunately I don't - my mum is disabled so we never sit near restricted seating. Regards

Hi Everyone!! Am considering booking tickets for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang but have never been to this Theatre before. I wondered if anyone would be good enough to tell me if the Stalls are tiered because if they are all 'on the level' I thought our view would be restricted. Also, is there anywhere to eat nearby before the Show - nothing expensive but reasonably priced. MANY thanks in advance for any replies.

stalls are tiered so you should have a good view. The Theatre is walking distance from the town centre - think Prezzo, Ask ,etc, but just book in advance
