We visited this church pm a Saturday in November after we had visited Vindolanda nearby. Stunning stone work in the Leschmann chapel and paintings. We also visted the Saxon crypt.

Great to visit here after Roman Forts on Hadrian's Wall. A peaceful Abbey with a very good visitor centre which was well worth viewing. Volunteers and staff were very helpful and friendly.

We really enjoyed our visit to Hexham abbey today. A special mention should go to Derek. He was very knowledgeable and explained things really well.

Amazed at the height and incredible stonework from an age with no electricity, cranes or health & safety!

Lovely Abbey with lots to see. Fascinating crypt and lots for kids to enjoy too. Can't believe it's free to go round. A must if your visiting Hexham.

I love the hexham abbey. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, yet not too intrusive. The window panes from the inside of the abbey are so beautiful its worth popping in just to gaze at them.

Went round Abbey and was very impressed with the history. It’s very well kept and there is an informative wee exhibition.
