A guide that was showing us around wanted us to see the inside of one of the Oxford colleges and a traditional dining hall and this college happened to be open. The admission fee was really small I think like 3.50. We only spent about...More

Prior to our booked Oxford tour, my sister in law and our kids paid to explore Balliol College. Heralded as one of the oldeest Colleges of the University, we were given a map of notable landmarks to wander through the stately grounds. Very informative, but...More

So may wonderful old buildings to see and admire but we chose this as one and were not disappointing. Wonderful little winding walkways leading to all corners of the buildings.

Don't waste your money. Half the rooms were closed and not open to the public. Whilst most of the other colleges were free to enter and just as nice

Very interesting visit. We were given booklet showing the route and explaining what the buildings were. Lovely garden to sit in and reflect on the history. Tea room available but did not visit. Discount for over 60's.

We had time to visit one college and it was Balliol. We were pleased with our choice. The gardens were particularly well designed and suited the architecture well. The portraits in the great hall were interesting and the stained glass in the chapel unusual.
