Wonderful but a biased opinion!

As a graduate of the college and university, I could be accused of bias but I did graduate 56 years ago! The college has made remarkable progress since my day. The Old and Chapel... read more

As a graduate of the college and university, I could be accused of bias but I did graduate 56 years ago! The college has made remarkable progress since my day. The Old and Chapel quads are much the same but 2 new quads have been added: the first by closing Beef Lane to the north of the chapel quad and... More

Pembroke is one of Oxford's hidden gems. The idea of student accommodation doesn't appeal (even if it is Oxford) but the college itself is really pretty and quiet with lovely old buildings and quads and a gorgeous old chapel chapel and hall. Definitely worth a look.

Have been a few times to Pembrokeshire's free lunchtime music recitals. Mist say I have thoroughly enjoyed them. The college has pleasant grounds and a good cafe.

I stayed here for a conference and booked using the college's booking link. Wasn't given an option of rooms and assumed I would be getting an ensuite (the information forwarded by the conference organisers described modern ensuite rooms in the Rokos). Unfortunately there seemed to be a huge variation in the standard of rooms allocated to the delegates and mine... More

I stayed for 2 nights at Pembroke. The room was small not particularly clean and up several flights of stairs. But the setting is simply wonderful. Dinner in the Hall magnificent.

As the poet, Sir John Betjeman, put it 'Still when I see it do I wonder why that College so polite and shy, should have more character than Queen's or Univ, splendid in the High'. Sometimes described as a small(er) Oxford College, this College actually has a large student body, and has recently expanded its estate via a bridge from... More

It is a shame but I really have got nothing positive to say about staying here. I am currentoy here for a conference. I definitely drew the short straw, my colleagues are staying in the nicer part. I am in stairway 11, the stench as you walk through the front door is awful. The walls and flooring are dreadful. Then... More

The college is beautiful, ancient and the grounds well maintained. I attended a conference here and the meeting halls and rooms were very good. The old Hall is lovely. If you are looking for accommodations in Oxford, though, this is not the place to stay. I'm in agreement with the previous reviewer. The rooms are not up to standard (I've... More

The College is lovely and well-sited opposite Christchurch just away from the centre. very limited parking is a bonusbut must be booked in advance. Brerakfast is better now that it is outsourced to a nearby cafe. Downside is that rooms can be at the top of windy staircases and some lack any privacy from offices opposite. The state of decoration... More

This may not be one of the biggest colleges in Oxford but it is one of the most attractive in my opinion. It has lovely little quads with smart lawns and pretty flowers and a charm all of its own. The dining hall is a must to see for its character and architecture. I've also been lucky enough to see... More
