Everything about Pembroke is charming. Walking through the inconspicuous entry to the first quadrangle with the amazingly lush grass, through to the second quadrangle with equally plush grass, the dining hall full of medieval character and the Damon Wells Chapel, which is breath-taking.

Pembroke College was founded in 1624 and the old quad and chapel quad remain as a truly wonderful aspect of the college, exuding history and heritage. It was really good to visit this place with my husband who studied here as a post-graduate student years...More

Its relatively small size especially when compared with its immediate neighbour on the other side of St. Aldate's has led it to be known as the coal-scuttle of Christ Church. It was founded in 1624 by King James I of England and VI of Scotland...More

As a graduate of the college and university, I could be accused of bias but I did graduate 56 years ago! The college has made remarkable progress since my day. The Old and Chapel quads are much the same but 2 new quads have been...More

Have been a few times to Pembrokeshire's free lunchtime music recitals. Mist say I have thoroughly enjoyed them. The college has pleasant grounds and a good cafe.

I stayed here for a conference and booked using the college's booking link. Wasn't given an option of rooms and assumed I would be getting an ensuite (the information forwarded by the conference organisers described modern ensuite rooms in the Rokos). Unfortunately there seemed to...More

I stayed for 2 nights at Pembroke. The room was small not particularly clean and up several flights of stairs. But the setting is simply wonderful. Dinner in the Hall magnificent.

As the poet, Sir John Betjeman, put it 'Still when I see it do I wonder why that College so polite and shy, should have more character than Queen's or Univ, splendid in the High'. Sometimes described as a small(er) Oxford College, this College actually...More
