This little village boasts a wonderful little church built in the Norman style, with some ancient stone decorations, and an interesting graveyard.

If staying in or close to Oxford, get away from the hustle and bustle by visiting this ancient Thames side village just 2 miles from the city centre. Start at the the wonderful Church of Norman origin. Have a look at the entrance door especially. Come out of the church turn left and head down to the riverside, cross the... More

We came here to lunch at The Prince of Wales Pub and found this village to be pretty. A small village with narrow roads so do drive through slowly. Enjoyed looking at the surrounding and buildings. It was a wonderfully mild end of October day today. We had fun walking through this village and recommends as a quick stop for... More

We visited this pub twice during our stay in the old parsonage down the road. The 1st night we arrived we ate there. There were 6 of us and we all ordered starters, mains and desserts washed down with various beverages. The total bill was almost £240 which for us is quite average as we all live in London. We... We visited the pub with friends, we were visiting in Oxford. They had recommended this pub after a previous visit. Upon entering, the pub looked welcoming and the bar had a great selection of Real Ales. As couples, we ordered seperately, so myself and my friend went to the bar to order. We got drinks first and when we asked... More

After the hustle and wonderland of Oxford, wander down the Thames towpath south past Donnington bridge to the little town of Iffley. An intact lock, weir, and fat white geese,it is best known for its Norman church, and a stained glass window by John piper. You can drive to it but to the full effect of its frozen in time... More

This is the worst meal I have ever had, The fish board charged at 18.00 for 2, was terrible.Small bit of smoked salmon and crayfish on a plate with hand rolled bits of stale brown bread with margarine, I asked for some more bread 2 slices of stale brown bread was given, it was foul and massively overpriced. My partner... More

Cannot believe the great range of food. All the 10 different main dishes which the 5 of us tried on 2 different nights were perfect and something to write home about. Great range of ales and choice of wines was good. Tables fairly spread out. Friendly hosts and staff. Clean toilets. What’s not to like? Would visit again.

This is a great hike (30 minutes) from Oxford, along the canal. Watch punters or just enjoy the view. There is a pub on the way, and a lovely church to visit. CHARMING
