Sheffield's a wonderful green city, and this 14.5 mile walk is an ideal way to see it. Because it was closest to my house I started at Meersbrook Park, and Bishop's House was a useful stop to buy the map. £3.95 was a little steep for the leaflet, but it was helpful with clear and useful instructions. The first leg... More

The Round Sheffield Walk (which is really the 'Round South Sheffield Walk') has linked Porter Valley, Whirlow & Beauchief Woods into a circular walk. There are obviously difficulties in making a long walk in a city/semi-rural environment and this walk has tried very hard to surmount these - and has done pretty well in half of the walk. If you... This walk is the best way to make the most of a day, rain or shine. A good variety of landscapes and opportunities for detours

This is a 16 miles walk around Sheffield and passing through lots of the parks and the countryside. I would recommend starting in Endcliffe Park and go up towards Forge Dam and RInginglow. The first half is more picturesque, giving the feeling of being out of town. The second half goes through less interesting parts of town with a few... More

The most impressive thing about the Sheffield round walk is just how much of it is in beautiful green parkland, all within the city boundaries. Lovely, pretty scenery, with cafes etc along the route. I'd highly reccomend it, although I did clock it at more like 16 miles than 14.

We started the walk in Endcliffe Park - we only covered a short section of this 14 mile walk but stopped for a break at the cafe at Forge Dam. Great way to spend an afternoon

This is a wonderful walk around the southern boundary edges of Sheffield. It takes in wonderful parks and woodland, full of wildlife and unforgettable nature! Also, the walk takes in local history, historic buildings and, plenty of cafe's! ... it is about a 4,5 or 6 hour walk in total (12 - 14 miles), although there are plenty of roads... More

A long-established walk through some of Sheffield's very finest scenery. Hard to believe that it's all within five miles of the city-centre. Porter Clough, Limb Valley, and Ecclesall Woods are particularly delightful. If you walk Beauchief to Hunter's Bar, you can even get your tea in Endcliffe Park Cafe!

a walk of about 14 miles which is best done in summer as it gets very muddy in parts during winter - plenty of refreshment establishemnts along the way and easy to do in sections
