Although I've passed by Sheffield Town Hall numerous times and have spent time looking at the various architectural details and the frieze sculpture by F.W. Pomeroy on the main façade – which depicts the Arts and Industries of Sheffield – and I have briefly been inside the Main Hall, I took advantage of the Heritage Open Days event last September... I got married here in 2012, its so beautiful and there is so much history in this amazing building, everyone should take the time for a visit. Beware though it isn't always open to the public, if you check their website it will confirm when they are open. Generally during the Tramlines festival in Sheffield they are open to the... More

My visit was only into the very limited areas the public are allowed into. It is a grand piece of architecture externally and as impressive internally. The are dispalys of civic siver and they are worth looking at. Workmanship in this city is remarkable.

Beautiful building, with lots going on. The main staircase is perfect for pics, and the whole place is a delight on the eye. I got civil partnered here a few years ago, so it has a special place in my heart, but ask anyone- lovely place, lovely staff. Well worth a pop in if you're visiting the city- there's often... More

Just a short visit we took advantage to have a look round as there was a craft fair on. Whilst not looking round the craft stalls we found the interior of the building amazing. Here near Christmas there was a very good nativity set up on the way in near the entrance.

Having gone to University in the city for six years I never stepped inside the building, but admired the beautiful architecture on the way to/from the railway station on a daily basis. Having been invited to attend a meeting at the Town Hall, this gave me the chance to look at the interior of the building. The receptionist was fantastic... More

The architecture is lovely but the peace gardens next door are amazing. Fountains and well kept gardens an oasis in the City centre. Look out for the Standard measure!!
