Weston Park is an award-winning, family-friendly museum where the visitors come first. If visiting with children, simply wind up and release, but there is plenty of treasure here for adults too. Discover the real story of Sheffield, from its geological roots to the people, politics and music that shaped the modern city. Alongside old favourites such as Snowy the Polar Bear and Spike the Woolly Rhino, Weston Park plays host to a series of temporary exhibitions.

I loved the museum, it surprised me in all the ways possible! Very informative, very attractive, very interactive. Perfect for kids and families! I was curious to learn about the city and I have to say I fell in love with it after this visit! Such an interesting place... So varied too. Each room holds a different exhibition, many natural-history... More

Good afternoon out. The exhibits were a nice range of hands on and observation. The holding of actual weapons always goes down a treat. The museum also always seems to have an family activity on which is great. Only downside is the lack.of parking near by

First note that this also listed just as Weston Park. It's many, many years since I was last here and has improved out of all recognition. Being born in Sheffield I found it very interesting and the cafe afterwards was nice. The park itself is very small but a nice stroll on a good day - the most exciting thing... More

The museum is a lovely blend of local and regional history, and some global issues. One of the local displays needs some explanation, it's just a three d map of the locality with some litle buildings on - no explanantion of what it's meant to be! The Art Gallery has some beautifully executed oils of local scenes, with useful pictured... More

Visited on a lovely Spring day with two teenagers who absolutely loved the dressing up opportunities in the museum (still big kids at heart!). Well kept attraction, very interesting and (unlike museums in our home city) free to get in! Well done, Sheffield - really enjoyed our visit here. And its in a lovely park.

The Weston Park museum exceeded our expectations. It was nice laid out and offered activities for kids to be entertained in every room (such as objects to touch or fancy dress costumes) Well worth a visit !

A relatively small museum, almost just opposite the Hallamshire and Childrens' Hospitals. Perfect for passing an hour or two, with a range of small exhibits, including a short history of Sheffield and artefacts from ancient britain. Also free entry, with the option to make a donation. Several interactive exhibits for the kids to get involved with, so good for all... More

…. If some of the visitors are there primarily to visit the café. We had made a mid-morning visit to the Hallamshire Hospital and decided to lunch at the café in Weston Park. We last visited the café a couple of years ago, and another visit was long overdue. The café is well positioned within the main building, an excellent... More
