Interesting local displays - good to see the more modern history of Ludlow being showcased. Friendly staff in an interesting building. It would be nice to have more items available to purchase- what they did have was of excellent quality but a very small range. Definitely worth a visit

Very small museum, but also very small entry fee at only £1. It has some interesting things relating to the history of the town and area, including the 'Bitterley Hoard' and a wonderful Golden dagger pommel. There was also a temporary display about 80s videogame design (for ZX Spectrum!), which took place in the town. The curator was also very... More

Right in the centre of town I was a little disappointed with its condition It seems to have been deprived of the TLC that it needs.

Hi there, thank you for your review, however, the Museum at the Buttercross is newly renovated and only reopened in August after extensive restoration, I wonder if you might be thinking of somewhere else? Please do pop in and see us if you're in Ludlow again! Open Fri-Sun 10-4pm. More

Delighted and surprised to find this small museum open in early February as many small town museums shut for the winter. Displays gave good information about the town and the curator was happy to answer questions and talk about continuing plans for upcoming mini displays. A couple of items in the displays were being mended but as adults this did... More

First visit since the move from the Assembly rooms. Very helpful man on front desk, happy to chat. Museum has been downsized and made more relevant to the town. Lovely rooms full of light and awesome views straight down Broad Street. The Bitterley Hoard looks amazing as does the gold dagger pommel. Geology video is well shot but a bit... More

Upstairs, however once up there I was told there was a lift. Not very large but gives a good history of the town and how it has developed and the staff are lovely

Apparently the museum had been refurbished after closing years ago and had only opened 3 days previously.I was amazed at so much history and displays in one small space. It is a veritable hidden gem, giving an insight into life in Ludlow and the surrounding area right up to the second World War.Well worth a trip(don't miss it up the staircase adjacent...
