We tried to visit on a Saturday afternoon. The website said it would be open for visits but it was not. I suggest you phone before you plan to travel

This superb example of an old iron framed building has been sat empty for many years with consultation after consultation and very little headway. The sooner it is fully restored and opened the better!

An amazing insight into local industry. There is a smallish visitor centre and you can walk round the outside of these huge buildings. We were lucky enough to get a tour of the inside but you don't get to see very much - just one...More

The extent of information, both in breadth and depth, is absolutely stunning. The staff could not be more helpful. So if it's in depth research or general interest, this is the place to go.

A wonderful site with lots to take in. The new Visitor Centre is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Easter to October. You can arrange tours of the Mill for groups and sign up for the Newsletter to be kept informed via the website...More

Came across the mill by chance one Saturday and saw that the visitor centre was open. Really enjoyed our visit especially having the opportunity to go inside the main building and see the very first iron framed building - the forerunner of all the skyscrapers.
