Visited here in January. Kids were excited to see how cheese is made, we paid to go through to the making area but nothing was happening....it does state this may be the case but the shop staff should let you know before you pay if anything is happening at that actual time. Cheese expensive but nice.

Had to stop and have a look in this interesting little town and sample it's famous cheese at one of many tasting houses on the main road. Great set up with tasting and processes for making this type of cheese famous for this area. Lots to taste and purchase just like a wine cellar but all about cheeses. I would... More

Once youve done the cheddar cheese factory and gorge, not really much more to do other than some great walks. Would recommend the Cheese factory, really interesting and you can taste and buy a great variety of different types of cheddar! Watching them make the cheddar is interesting and only cost £2. A little feedback, why not offer the £2... More

We purchased a pack of three cheeses, and a block of the Vintage....the vintage is amazing. We also purchased some caremalised onion chutney, which was exceptional. I could have actually bought all of the cheese...it tastes that good! Lovely, friendly staff as well.

Called into the beautiful George just before Christmas with some South Korean visitors. This is the first time i've take the time to purchase cheese and I have t say I have never - and I mean never - tasted much an inferior and poor quality cheese as that purchased at the Cheddar George Cheese Company. I am disappointed ,... More

We are so sorry you didn't enjoy our cheese; but happy to report we have never received a review like this! Of course, we fully accept that not everyone likes the taste of traditional cheddar cheese. Our cheddar is indeed very different from most other cheddar cheeses; we use local raw milk, make it by hand, produce traditional large cylindrical... More

Lots of different cheese to try - it's not just Cheddar! There's chutneys & pickles too. If I lived here there, I'd be getting all my cheese from this shop.

Visited the sweet kitchen in Cheddar. Was informed that around the festive season or the winter months demonstrations of sweets being made are only at weekends. The shop too is only open at weekends in the winter months. They still produce sweets in the week to fill the constant demands. They are the only sweet factory in Somerset. We saw... More
