Burcott Mill is a traditional water-powered flour mill, one of only 50 still operating in the UK today. uilt in 1863, this mill is still producing high quality quality organic stone-ground flour using the traditional methods and machinery that were employed 150 years ago. In the Summer months of July August and September, the miller conducts tours at 3pm on Wed, Thurs, Fridays and Saturdays. Go to the Burcott Mill Website for more information

Visited on spec and the friendly miller was really helpful. You can see the whole process from the waterwheel through the very old and intricate power transfer to the huge mill wheels. I bake my own bread and the extra-fine wholemeal flour is terrific stuff...More

Whilst on sight seeing and walking holiday near Wells we had heard about the Burcott Mill so we decided to take the scenic route to the small village of Wookey ,the mill is on the main road through the Village so you can’t miss it....More

Tour was informative and amusing. Welcome was warm and friendly, with real enthusiasm to share history and craft. Tea and cakes were a good way to end the visit. A very enjoyable and happy afternoon.
