Probably always overshadowed by the Cathedral however a lovely church with a lot of history. Slightly out from the main part of the City.

I have to admit that it was the cathedral, Vicars Close, Bishops Palace and Wells marketplace that were on my 'to do' list but I stumbled across St Cuthbert's by mistake and by very good luck! It's absolutely lovely and I think in a quieter...More

Beautiful both inside and out, no charge for entry, able to take photographs. No parking at the church but there is a car park close by.

If you are in Wells take the time to also visit this very hisitoric church. It is within 1/2 a mile of the Cathedral and well worth the walk. The Almshouses are just outside the church border.

We visited this church, whilst staying in Wells. It is a lovely church which should be visited and not forgotten due to Wells having a Cathedral.

When we arrived in Wells for the first time we saw the church and thought it must be the cathedral as its tower dominates the skyline. We discovered it wasn't but ensured we had time before we left to explore the church. Well worth a...More

Every talks about and visits the Wells Cathedral, which is stunning, but this Church is well worth a visit - a true gem. We stumbled upon it while walking around downtown Wells. It is located right there amidst the coffee shops, restaurants, stores, etc. The...More
