I absolutely love the chase. I grew up going on walks there every Sunday and now I live in London I try and go across the chase anytime I am back! So peaceful with a chance of wildlife spotting. birches Valley is brilliant for kids but a little touristy. Try Milford common the punch bowl for slightly quieter areas.

Lived around Cannock Chase for many years and have seen the gradual destruction of the facilities on Cannock Chase as Staffordshire County Council using public funds to create cycle tracks for all and sundry from the Midlands without charging them a penny. Had a lovely walk on a week day with my dogs, hardly saw any other people and it was a lovely sunny, fresh day. Paths were clear, well maintained and signposted. We walked 9 miles in totally through lots of different scenery and really enjoyed it. Improvements could be made by adding fig waste bins and also small maps to... More

We visit Cannock chase regularly, sometimes mountain biking , walking, or den building with the kids. Would recommend a visit, but sometimes can get busy especially at weekends, Cannock Chase is not particularly big considering its classed as a forest, mornings are generally a quieter time to go.

Cannock Chase has become a mecca for mountain bikers which is great . However other than fabulous mountain biking it's lacking in diversity of wildlife. Mass planting of Forestry Commission for profit trees and the subsequent removal of large areas is not conducive to a happy wildlife population. Couple that with a surrounding area of people with shotguns intent on... More
