Bank holiday visit so busy but ample parking. New tea room. Lots of activities for visitors (egg hunts, canoeing & animals) Revisited to see the museum which was the servants quarters and wash rooms. Unfortunately the upstairs of the house was closed due to renovations but we'd seen them on the last visit, definitely worth seeing and would be interested... More

There is so much to see here, that Shugborough deserves lots and lots of visits. A favourite for photographers has to be the superb gallery of Patrick Lichfield's photographs and memorabilia.

As members of NT we decided to give it a go, despite the negative reviews. It will be amazing when complete! The grounds are beautiful and the buildings and displays will be engaging am sure. But as parents of two young boys, age 3 and 4, there isn't yet enough to entertain them aside from running around. The walk from... More

We have been many times before the N T had taken over and enjoyed it. Now it's just not ready, nothing there to see most rooms closed those that were open were dismal and empty. Hardly any animals were there, cafes just can't cope. If we hadn't been national trust members we would have wanted our money back, won't be... More

Although relatively recently acquired, opening too soon and not being equipped to handle to volume of visitors is inexcusable. The NT has had long enough to learn that attractions need to live up to expectations and although eventually this one will no doubt, in the meantime the visitor should not have to suffer for inadequate arrangements. Freshly ground coffee is... More

My wife and I visited Shugborough hall with some friends who live in Stafford. It was not our first time but since our previous visit the whole estate has been taken over by the National Trust. They are spending a lot of money on improvements but while these are taking place, some parts of the estate and Hall are closed... More

first of all the car park is so far away from the house with no real foot path to walk on and as someone with mobility issues it spoiled it straight away. after the long walk to the mansion i thought great we are finally here for the mansion to be all but closed apart from a few rooms downstairs,... This spring has seen the National Trust take over the running of Shugborough which was previously rung by Staffordshire County Council with some input from the NT. Much work is being done on the estate which they are returning to a fixed point in time and as a result have removed many of the animals which the County Council had... More

Great day out.Last visited at least 15 years ago, and glad to find N.T. have taken over as impossible for council to manage due to insufficient funding.Fascinating to see building now in need of vast amount of money and time spent on repairs. It will be great to see this take place but a mammoth task! Limited refreshments but good... More
