We were lucky enough to be perfectly timed for the guided tour of the house and to have a very small group of 5. Our guide James was brilliant - if you could clone him amd send him as a guide to all stately homes it would be amazing! The house came alive with the tour and even without it's... More

Our first point of call wad the garden games, which my boys loved. We went to see the tree and walked down to the priory. The guide inside was excellent, taking time to explain to my children. The family room was good as they tried on armour.

This is a great house to visit if you're interested in the history of the Civil War. While there is some description within the house, a guided tour will bring the history to life. When we visited there were two, one at 11am other at 2pm. The guide was very knowledgeable and she beautifully told the story of Charles II's... More

I arrived at 10am and was told that there was a tour at 11am. So I decided to tour the house on my own. When I entered the house I met a guide called Mike who gave me a great personal tour around. Well worth a visit.

A warm welcome and a great tour from Daisy were just two of the highlights of our Saturday day out here. Although it's not a particularly big house, the surrounding gardens and fields are a lovely place to spend a few hours when the weather is good. The activities for children are plentiful in the 'Family Room', ironically accessed from... More

This is a lovely house to visit if you want to learn about the history of the house and Charles 2nd. The staff and volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly. Lots of lovely countryside around the house for walking with the White lady priory and Royal Oak near by. Would definitely recommend paying it a visit.

This was the first time we had been to Boscobel House and just came across it as we went for a drive. It was £7 each to get in, which I understand goes towards the up keep. Be aware that there are guided tours so if you want to make your own way around find out the times as these restrict... More

I was looking for somewhere to visit between Christmas and New Year. It had to meet 4 criteria. 1, be open. 2, be of historic interest. 3, not too far away. And 4, be a good place to walk the dog whilst we where there! A big ask I know, but Boscobel House came up trumps. The house made a... More

Trying to find activities of interest with a monosyllabic 11 year old which do not involve an I-pad is a difficult one! So we came to Boscobel house, bought a guide book (which he didn't want!) & booked the guided tour of the house (which surprisingly he didn't want to do either!) The young man who showed us round the... More
