Visited the museum on a weekend to have a nosey about the place. What an excellent Museum this is and a credit to the volunteers who run it. I visited to find out more about my late farther and grand farther army service. I would like to thank Gwyn Thomas for his time and the information he gave me to carry my search further. My wife and myself really enjoyed looking at the... More

What a brilliant museum. Full of interesting artefacts, not just from the Suffolk Regiment. The volunteers who staff the museum (we went on the first Sunday in March 2017) were friendly and very knowledgeable. Please visit and keep this excellent museum going.

What a little hidden gem, we had known that this museum existed and at long last we got to visit....and it was worth waiting for. This museum and the staff ( all volunteers with amazing knowledge ) bring all the exhibits to life. I had a ancestor who was in the Suffolks in WW1, I did know that his medals... More

Visited on a heritage day, what a surprise to find so much information and artifacts on display. The museum details the regiment from its inception to the current day. The prize exhibit is the VC on display together with how it was won. This place is well worth a visit, parking was easy my only comment is that you have... More

Called in here by chance as i noticed it was open when I was passing by. This place is a treasure trove of historical articles covering a very important 'local' contribution to the defence of the country. A must visit - lest we forget.

Very impressed with the level and range of artifacts. Clearly well cared for, great presentation covering a wide range of military campaigns. My grandfather served in the Suffolks in WWI so it was especially pleasing to see.

This is well worth a visit, we were researching a family member in World War 1 and thought he was in the Suffolk regiment. The Gentleman provided very useful information as to where to look. The guides are all volunteers but heir enthusiasm brings things to life. Not musty and good for children

This is a must see in Bury. Very interesting, very thought provoking and very poignant. Many of my family members were in the Regiment and the museum brings them to mind and draws them closer. Moving, to say the least.

The Suffolk Regiment Museum was the main reason for our visit to the Bury St. Edmunds area, as ancestors served in the Suffolk Regiment. What a treasure trove of historical artifacts for future generations to have as a reference of the past. The museum curator and volunteers were very informative, some even sharing their military knowledge and stories. We were... More
