A magnificent example of church architecture. A peaceful retreat from the hurley burley of modern life.

The architecture is particularly interesting, with mediaeval angels in the roof. Henry VIII's sister is buried by the altar, along with many other local worthies who are commemorated. You will be made very welcome by the stewards.

Once again, a lovely place to visit. I don't know how building the roof was managed all those centuries ago. The craft work was beautiful.

I was lucky enough to be there on 10 th April when the organ was being played: thank you it was beautiful. The attendant was very helpful and obviously loves his very beautiful church.

We are regulars at the 9.30am service on a Sunday. It is the family service and lasts an hour, with four different Sunday School classes that go on for each group of ages, except the first Sunday in the month. The friendly family feeling in...More

Very good atmosphere for a medieval large church. Compared to the nearby cathedral this had more history. Also intricate ceiling next to the Lady Chapel. Curious to find more information about the bosses as it was seeing them on a postcard at the back of...More
