We didn't plan to go inside until one of the locals told us about the history. Mary Tudor, a queen of France, daughter of Henry VII and sister to Henry VIII is buried inside the church. Very nice inside.

St Mary's is the parish church for Bury St Edmunds and it is not difficult to see why. The stained glass is magnificent, especially the west window and the ceiling has a series of carved, life-sized angels. This is as impressive as the cathedral itself.

This church is the third largest in the UK. It has an impressive display of satined glass windows and magnificent carvings of angels on the roof. Has a full choir and decent organ. It is the civic church of the town.

Magnificent Church with unique hammer beam angel roof and amazing stained glass windows. Dating from 1290, Henry VIII's favourite sister is buried here.
