There's no getting away from it, crossing this bridge tells you that you have arrived in the Toon. Great architecture, views of the quayside, views of the Gateshead buildings, the Sage, the Baltic... All in all arriving in 'gods own country'. Time to enjoy yourself!!

I always feel like I'm being welcomed into the city when I drive over the Tyne Bridge. A fantastic, iconic structure that sums up the city. Ever better with the views of the Millennium Bridge and the Sage as you drive over.

I always get a buzz going over this bridge, designed and built in the northeast. When you travel over from Gateshead, if you look to the left you will see 5 other bridges, and look to the right you will see the Millenium Bridge. Brilliant place to visit.

This is an iconic landmark spanning the river Tyne and linking Gateshead to Newcastle. The design echoes Sydney Harbour Bridge. There are excellent hotels either side of the river and so mi opportunity to enjoy the bridge.

This amazing bridge is the iconic symbol of Newcastle and deservedly so ! Built in the 1920s it is as solid today as the day it was finished. Views from the bridge are impressive in both directions but viewed from the quayside the bridge can fully be appreciated. The bridge and the supports have become a breeding site for a... More
