The Tyne Bar has been a mainstay of the Newcastle pub scene since November 1994, when it helped to kickstart the cultural renaissance of the city's Ouseburn Valley. Building on the legacy of pubs like The Barley Mow and The Egypt Cottage, on nearby City Road, the pub boasts free live music events, craft beers, artisan coffee, food promos, a free jukebox and the legendary beer garden beneath the bridge.

We spent a pleasant evening sitting outside on a summers evening with a pleasant crow. Good choice of beer and a lively atmosphere. It’s tucked away near some old industrial buildings but worth stopping by if you are strolling up the quayside from town.

We're obliged by the terms of our licence to serve all outdoor drinks in plastic containers, but bottles, for some reason, are excluded from this. As for the food, this is the modern "street food" way to serve food, so we can only assume you...More

Some great lunchtime food options, ok they don’t sound much ie Burgers, German Hotdogs and Mexican dishes including wraps & tacos, it’s the tasty variety of toppings and styles available that make it work. I had a ‘Dirty Dog’ which is a decent quality German...More
