This is the third successive year that I have brought my partner here to celebrate her birthday, as she is a Shakespeare fanatic. This year we saw both Julius Caesar and Anthony and Cleopatra as part of the Rome season and hopefully we can get back later in the year for Titus Andronicus and Coriolanus and see the complete season.... This was the first time I watched a Shakespeare play in theatre. Parking Big for of advice if you are going there for the first time (but probably a given) - leave 1 hour earlier to get there due to parking and traffic! luckily there are a lot of places to park but when you arrive there, especially on the... My wife and I went to see Anthony and Cleopatra last night and it has to rate as one of the finest performances that we have seen over the years at the RSC. Every aspect of the production was perfect. Inspired direction with truly great acting. The stage sets and lighting were simply inspiring and let's not forget the crew... More

We visit often throughout the year; the RSC provide a wonderful theatre experience which everyone should try. The setting is beautiful, by the river, and the perfect place for an interval drink in the warmer months. Bars are small and busy and still not enough ladies loos to cope with demand!

Watched a performance of Julius Caesar, having been to the Globe in London several times. This play seemed all a bit too intense, and the performers got way too deep into character, and it felt a bit like a lower budget affair, but that doesn't detract from the fine setting. Bit of a bucket list moment. Ticked that box now.... More

Saw " Anthony and Cleopatra " here in April and thoughly enjoyed it !! . The stage projects out into audience far more than a modern conventional auditorium . The shakesperean actors talk in olde english so dont concentrate too much on the individual sentences but the overall impression and you soon get the gist . Best to read about... More

We visited intending to get a 'feel' of this magnificent complex, prior to making a second visit to see a play. I was being pushed in a wheelchair by my wife, but this presented no problems we first enjoyed a coffee on the riverside terrace in the warm spring sunshine prior to entering the RSC complex itself to view the... Visited with wife to see Al Murray performance, really nice modern venue, excellent friendly staff throughout. Good size, not too big, nice and close to performer, great seating and facilities throughout, very clean. Nice big bar area with doors opening outside onto canalside.
