St Johns House, a Jacobean Mansion located in Warwick, has a history spanning almost 900 years. The land on which the current building now stands was originally used as a hospital in the 12th century. The current house has been used as a private residence, a school and administrative offices of the War Department in the early 20th century. Latterly the building was bought by Warwickshire County Council and turned into a Museum, which was opened to the public in 1960. Please note, from April 1st 2017 the Museum will not be available for public visits, but by pre-arranged schools and groups only. The Museum will be open to the general public on Heritage Open Weekends. On the first floor of the house is The Royal Warwickshire Regiment of Fusiliers Museum, visit their website for opening hour details

In all honesty we accidently ended up in this wonderful venue while we were looking for St. Nick's. And what an awesome find it was. My biggest regret was not getting the bearded gentleman's name who was an amazing host. He was knowledgable and very...More

The house is quite good, but it houses a museum for the Warwick Fusiliers. Good memorial to the various wars and battles. Many medals on display.

The building is beautiful from the outside but the buildings historic feel is lost inside. The only place to visit inside was the Soldier museum I walked around but it is not really my interest. Would be lovely for any budding soldiers or anyone interested...More

You can tour some of the grounds but the municipal museum has closed as of April 2017. The house is attractive to view in and of itself and the grounds worth a brief stroll.

Hi, thanks for your review. The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Museum (Royal Warwickshire) is still open on the first floor and the downstairs galleries will be open for special events and Heritage Open Days.

The Museum is housed in an attractive Jacobean mansion and is free, housing two separate museums, there are separate donation boxes. Downstairs are exhibits suitable for young and old. It has a well equipped Victorian kitchen and a schoolroom which my partner found to be...More

Great selection of interesting artefacts for both young & old. Regimental models, medals & dressing up as a soldier upstairs, helpful staff. We enjoyed our visit there, would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere different to go to.

This small museum is free and quite close to the railway station. It's interesting if you like everything which is related to the army (detailed exposition of ancient flags and army uniforms). I particularly enjoyed the exhibition on WWI in Warwickshire and the room which...More

Interesting museum as regards the ways of old schools and toys. Bit of fashion too and an old kitchen set up at the back

For those with young children this is an interesting place. It will entertain the children aged 6 to 13 quite easily. And as its an 8 min walk from the castle its worth it.
