The last time I visited this 750 year old fortified manor house, was during a school study trip during my preteen years - some 12 or 13 years ago. Back then the castle grounds was genuinely "open", thus giving us a closer look (and feel)...More

While Weoley castle has a public viewing area that is open almost every day of the year, this is behind a mesh fence and therefore not great. However throughout the year they hold events (check their website) where you can see the castle close up....More

We paid £2 each to get in and there was a display amongst the ruins of various different birds of prey. There was a factual talk on each bird and they flew sometimes quite close to you…. the highlight was the last bird circled around...More

Rarely open to the public. The Castle ruins can be seen from behind a fence only most of the time. There are other walks and castle remains within 10 miles with better views.

There's more there than you think! A very atmospheric oasis, hidden away in the middle of an urban housing estate! Look out for great free and very cheap family events. The falconry event in September is fantastic.

Looked nice but you can only see it from behind a fence most of the time unless you can get on a tour.
