Opened in 1962, mac birmingham is a hub of creativity and learning in the Midlands. With four performance auditoria, rehearsal and media studios, a cinema, and a visual art gallery, mac birmingham presents a broad range of contemporary work from both emerging and established artists across genres. mac birmingham is the most visited arts centre in the Midlands and is renowned for its family friendly and inclusive approach. Originally intended for children, the centre now caters for audiences young and old, from the local community and beyond. Re-opened in May 2010 after extensive refurbishment, the arts centre boasts stunning architecture and a high level of accessibility. Set in the magnificent surroundings of Cannon Hill Park and home to the Bridges Bar Café for meals and snacks, and the stylish Arena Bar for evening drinks, the centre is well worth a visit.

Always plenty to see and do here. Good cafe although it does get very busy. Acres of park outside for kids to run off energy.

Well signposted and good parking facilities. Decent location to city although local roads get busy at usual times of the day.

True it was bank holiday but this does not excuse unwiped filthy tables, very dirty lavatories both disabled and non disabled with no toilet paper . Rubbish all over the area into the park and simply the worst half warm tasteless coffee ever. I remember when this was a very civilised and genteel place. Very embarrassing as we had taken... More

I love the MAC in Brum for music, exhibitions and the cinema, but the cafe is always dirty. You don't see anyone wiping the tables. I regularly meet up with grandchildren for lunch, the tables and chairs are always sticky and dirty. Last Sunday we found a free table, covered in spilt coffee and crumbs and couldn't find anyone to... More

Visited earlier today. It's a lovely centre. Wanted to mention that Vince at reception was really helpful earlier this morning and kindly printed off something for me. Thanks. Been to cafe before it's pretty nice too. It's pretty busy on Saturdays after park runs.

went to see this production with my son Saturday Night 18th February, superb acting, told the story well, really drew us in, Felt like we were there in the story, the changes between past, present and the future were so well done considering there was no costume change and the only prop was a bit of scaffolding well done to... The Mac is a brilliant venue, with a brilliant setting in Cannon Hill Park. Parking is plentiful. The cinema is good value and excellent. It is a real film lovers cinema, with no food and drink allowed in the screen which means no annoying crunching. There are always different courses and events on. It's just great - go!
