Park is a peaceful place to visit, especially the Mogul Water Garden. Cartwright Hall is interesting, especially current 'Splendours of the East' exhibition. Good Children's playground. However, if the Lakeside cafe is busy - forget it! 7 of us went today and after the first two had been served we were told (not very politely either) that no more food... More

We went to see The Splendours of the East Exhibition in Cartwright Hall and afterwards as the day was sunny we strolled through Lister Park and had lunch at the cafe by the boating lake. The exhibition was excellent and a great opportunity to see this collection of outstanding craftsmanship and design from late nineteenth century India. We were impressed... More

Free exhibition in Cartwright Hall, well worth a visit. Beautifully presented, knowledgeable guides. Followed by a stroll around the park which is looking lovely.

I came here again to do the Race for Life and it's a great park for everyone. We walked around the day before and there are lots of things for the kids to do and it's a decent walk around and interesting. Will be back I'm sure.

There's lots going on in this park and plenty of things to keep you entertained. My children particularly like the playground which offers things to do for small kids as well as the older ones. It is well kept and clean. It can get quite busy on a nice day but is still an enjoyable activity for families.

Visited many times and absolutely a delight to walk through, .. hang out at. The gardens are possibly the best in Europe. Will be going to the park every Saturday morning (9am) to join others on the free 5km run (3 laps). Great motivation for the community.

I turned up with my family to do the Parkrun. After the short walk from Frizinghall I was amazed at how well kept, spacious and pretty this park is. The paths are wide and smooth - ideal for a buggy; the buildings are gorgeous and historic - we went into the museum where there was an interesting exhibition of historical... More

Lovely atmosphere different areas to go and explore. Busy areas, quiet tranquil gardens. Something for everyone and there's a lovely cafe and a chance to have a boat ride too. There is also the very famous Cartwright Hall Museum with all it's history. Hope you enjoy it too.
