I love this place - set in the lovely Lister Park, the collection of art is very interesting, and the recent addition of the Hockney gallery makes this a must see!

While away the hours with some beautiful and compelling paintings within a fine and grand building, worthy of praise and admiration in its own right. The small Glisten and Shine exhibition, available until 8 April 2018, is certainly not to be missed in my opinion.

Great! Well worth the visit. And if you're in the area the Hockney gallery at Salts Mill is a must too. Food at the nearest pub to Cartwright Hall -The Turf is really good, the place isn't anything to go by on the eye but...More

Housed in a 19th century mansion, this superb art gallery has a very fascinating collection. In harmony with Bradford's multi-ethnic population, the works of art on display are by artists from Europe and Asia. The recently opened David Hockney Gallery is a treat. It contains...More

This is fabulous with many of David's personal photos showing an insight into his early life. That combined with paintings, drawings, IPad drawings etc., and even his fashion contribution make this a great place to visit. Add all the other paintings from other artists and...More

Cartwright Hall is located in Lister Park, around a mile and a half north of Bradford, in the suburb of Manningham. I took the 626 bus from Saltaire to get there. Lister Park is very nicely laid out and Cartwright Hall is a fine building,...More

Beautiful building located in spacious parkland in Bradford. The Hokney exhibition shows a whole range of his work from early family photographs through time in America, I pad drawings and prints. Lots of information about the artist and his local connections.

The first impression of the Gallery is the splendour of the building and the stunning floral displays at the entrance. The gallery is big enough to be worth visiting but can be seen comfortably in a couple of hours. We certainly enjoyed it.
