Not really a castle but a grand old fortified house, well worth a visit. First of all it's free, parking was a problem as renovation work to grounds is in operation, so parked outside. The grounds will be good to look around once work completed, but you can still look around outside. This museum is furnished and very impressive, natural... More

Great visit to Cliffe Castle museum which has a nice varied selection of exhibits, from natural history to old furniture and costumes as well as a small art gallery. One of the best things is the number of exhibits, particularly fossils, from the local area - it's one thing to see an interesting fossil from elsewhere but even more interesting... More

I've lived in Keighley most of my life and visited the museum as a child. I revisited for the first time recently with my husband, brother, sister-in-law and niece and walk in the grounds regularly with my 2 dogs. The car park is currently being used by construction services working on improving the grounds so parking is a little limited... More

Firstly, the castle is free which is great! There is so much to see, many different exhibitions to see, and also some rooms showing how the castle would have looked like.

We have visited many museums and private houses and can honestly say that Cliffe Castle Museum is absolutely the best! The interior of the house has not been compromised (unlike so many others) by being turned into a museum even after so many years. The architectural design is breathtaking, every aspect is pristine and cared for, great attention to detail, the... I was most impressed with the diversity of exhibits and displays at Cliffe Castle. When you enter the old mansion you will see some ornately decorated rooms from the Victoria era. There is written information about the artefacts and the family who lived there. Then as you move further in to the museum you begin to see a wide variety... More

Went here for the first time at the recommendation of a friend. Lots of interesting things to see and do around the museum, and there is also an indoor area where you can sit and eat your picnic. Also, there is a great playground outside in the gardens which all the children loved. All free although donations are welcomed.

I have just been to Cliffe Castle Museum in Keighley and spent an enjoyable two hours looking at the above exhibition. The exhibition comprises some very beautiful pictures by Kate Lycett. They are pictures of houses that no longer exist, former large scale homes around the areas of Bradford, Halifax and Todmorden with the accompanying story as to what happened... More

We're so glad to hear you enjoyed the visit. Kate Lycett's exhibition is fantastic isn't it? It's also nice to hear you enjoyed our permanent displays - the Morris Glass is spectactular, isn't it? We believe it's some of the earliest examples of glass from Morris & Co. We'll pass on your compliments to the staff- we pride ourselves on... More

although the gardens and café are being renovated this did not detract from a wonderful visit. The castle has a good mixture of exhibits expected to be there 30 minutes and was there over an hour. The indoor beehive is closed so the bees can be cared for full time

We visited the museum as we were stuck for something to do! It is free to visit (although you can make a donation) so if you want something to do without spending this is ideal! The museum has a number of different exhibits and the kids all enjoyed it. Something worth doing on a wet day and a low budget!
