Great place to visit, and it's free. Had Leek and Potato Soup. Friend had a jacket potato,in the museum cafe. Beautifully cooked, very tasty and good value. Will definitely go again even without visiting the museum.

The local Welsh society pre arranged the visit and wanted to study the history of Leeds since very early times, with special interest in the Celtic/Briton times. We wanted to see links to ancient Welsh influence ,place names etc. Our guide was most informative and really knew his geography and history. The displays are well lit, well written and huge... Recent visit and like other reviewers found it a little tired and slightly confused in the story it was trying to tell with some interesting bits thrown in. Okay to spend an hour but wouldn't plan my day around visiting and visit won't live long in the memory. Needs some direction / inspiration / funding.

So, dropped in for coffee after a long walk round Leeds after sightseeing with a German friend. Service in cafe very good. Relaxing area with good coffee. Varied menus and very convenient to parking and shops and bars, restaurants etc.

I visited the museum to find out more of the history of this fascinating city, hearing they had a floor dedicated to this topic. I have to say I found it unfocused and disappointing. It meanders through time but never really gets to grips with anything - such as the engineering, the mills or the growth off the city. There... More

I had the distinct impression that the museum is a little tired, a little short of funds and needing an infection of inspiration. It's not that easy to find different sections l have been easy to miss one of the latest acquisitions - the 6 piece treasure found recently. There has been an attempt to display this in an interesting... More

Pretty cool place to visit. The taxidermy is especially interesting. Would have liked a little more history on the city though. The museum is organised in a random way. It would help if it was in an order.
