We took the steam train from Middleton Steam railwasy station up into the woods and were met by volunteer guides who took us through wooded paths surrounded by clouds of bluebells! This was a very special visit for us! Once through the wood, there is a lovely cafe (very reasonable prices) for refreshments and we sat outside by the lake... More

Close proximity to Leeds city centre. After visiting the railway, we walked through the Spring bluebells in the surprisingly pretty park to the cafe by the lake (we had a cheap cream tea!). In the cafe building are toilets and leaflets showing a number of different walks through the park, which is extensive

Middleton Park is kept beautifully by the Parks Dept and help from Friends of Middleton Park. Woods have one of1 the best Bluebell displays we have ever seen(out now, don't miss the show). What used to be the municipal 18 hole golf course, has now been incorporated into the park, you can imagine every dogs joy at running in this space.... More

We are so lucky to have this beautiful area on our doorstop. I've only lived in Leeds just over 6years and the improvements made to this park are immense. So much hard work goes into trying to preserve and maintain this area. A big thankyou to all involved. The cafe is a lovely friendly little place with basic food and... More

I was brought up here and spent my hildhood running around here...I came back with my running shoes on the other week. It was great to run once more through ancient woods, great range of footpaths and expansive grass clearings. Beautiful and peaceful and well worth a visit if you like running ( or walking ) in beautiful woodland.

We visit this park frequently and we love it. You would never know you were so close to Leeds city centre as its so peaceful and quiet. There are lots of different walks through the woodlands, a small lake with ducks, a cafe and an old fashioned steam/diesel railway station at one end. It doesn't matter what time of year... More

South Leeds has a hidden treasure. 'Miggy Park' is wonderful - woodland, open spaces, dog walking, a golf course, a pond for ducks and fishing, a bandstand (with performers) and plenty of space for children to play. Nobody outside South Leeds seems to have even heard of it! Much better to list than Roundhay or Golden Acre.

I've grown up going to Middleton park so it's very familiar to my family and I but over the past few years it's become a beautiful park. Its vast with acres and acres of woodland ideal for walks, biking and running round. There's even a steam train that's runs through the woods. The history is amazing and there are many... More
