Today we visited this lovely location. I have to say that it was the most wonderful and interesting experience. The staff were very welcoming and they were totally engaging. The home of Ted Heath is an Aladdins Cave of fascinating history and it is certainly worth a visit. We will certainly return again.

The staff are very friendly, helpful, good fun and have a great knowledge of the various aspects of Edward Heath's life. The house is virtually the way that it was lived in so it has a lovely warm atmosphere. The landscaped gardens which you can walk through are accessed via the front of the house. His piano is available to... More

Wow! I had not expected Sir Edward Heaths residence to be so beautiful. A lovely house full of exquisite paintings and ceramics collected by our former P.M. It revealed him to be a sensitive and interesting chap... a grammar school boy from a humble background. The garden was enchanting with views of the cathedral and the river running along at... More

This was an "ad hoc" visit e.g. saw the bright blue banner. The house is just lovely and can totally understand how the former prime minister came to choose to live there. Really interesting photographs and momentous. The gardens are unbelievably easy to walk around. The best thing about this experience is the people - the volunteers are full of... More

A very interesting view of the life and interests of one man who had plenty of strings to his bow. The rather under-achieved garden has one of the most brilliant settings imagineable with a view through the wrought iron gates to Salisbury Cathedral. The personal collections are revealing and interesting.

A beautiful house with amazing views of Salisbury Cathedral. Inside did not disappoint, and is exactly as he left it, helped by the informative stewards in each room. The house displays memorabilia from his former life as a politician and Prime minster, plus his hobbies and passion for music , sailing and art Then stroll through the 2 acre garden,... More

With his reputation now intact, Ted Heath's last home at Arundells is a good way of connecting with the politician who took us into Europe having fought the Nazis. The vast array of political cartoons are rarely funny, but often pointed and poignant in the context of Brexit. The house is beautifully preserved and stocked with gifts and memorabilia from... This house is in a central location by the cathedral. There was an interesting exhibition of cartoons. The house is interesting but did not feel like a home! Volunteers were, if anything, too keen to share information! Gardens were beautiful.

The guided tour is the best way to visit Arundells as there is so much to impart. The house feels warm and comfortable and there is so much to see - paintings, china, political cartoons and sailing memorabilia.

'Arundells' the retirement home of Sir Edward Heath in Salisbury. The home is open to view and is left in aspic as if Sir Edward still lives there, you can visit his dining room set for guests, his music room and the hall showing his remarkable sailing achievements and awards. His study bedroom and military career room with many facts... More
