River Bourne Community Farm is based on land adjacent to Cow Lane in the village of Laverstock, Salisbury. Initially on 63 acres of land adjoining the River Bourne, the farm has developed into a sustainable working farm, supported by full-time staff and by volunteers. The farm is managed by The River Bourne Community Farm C.I.C. This is a 'Community Interest Company' designed specifically for those wishing to operate for the benefit of the community rather than for the benefit of the owners of the company.Education plays a large part of the farm, giving local educational establishments access to the day-to-day work of the farm whilst stressing sustainability and ecologically sound practices. A traditional herd of cattle, with sheep, pigs and hens is complimented by some crop planting. Fruit and vegetables are grown in our education field and polytunnel. Visitors are welcome to come and have a look around the farm and see all the animals including our very friendly goats and donkeys. We have a farm shop selling eggs from our chickens, pork and sausages from pigs reared on the farm, local honey and many other lovely treats! We also have a cafe where you can get refreshments, home-made cakes and light lunches and snacks. Check our website for events, workshops and other information.

The first time I visited Riverbourne Community Farm I was pleasantly surprised with how this had evolved over the years. Originally a group of locals got together to develop allotments. With their success in the venture came new buildings: plans for a greater eating area have been drawn up for next year. At present there is a very tiny cafe... More

Went to this farm today for the first time, didn't know it was in Salisbury, took our granddaughter who lives in Milton Keynes, she enjoyed it very much especially the donkey's she thought they were great, a really good place to take your children considering it is free to go in and see the animals.

We took the local primary school reception class for a visit. They had a wonderful time seeing all the animals and collecting eggs!

A really lovely free attraction which is open daily. They also do arranged trips for schools etc. They have set up a sixties style farm with a range of animals, pigs, goats, donkeys, chicken and sheep. Kids really enjoy learning about the animals and staff are happy to chat and explain things. They have some fun days over the summer... More

This is a great place to take young children to give them an interest in farming and nature and at certain times of year they can learn from the open days

This is a fab little place to visit which is free of charge. The shop isn't open all hours but if you're lucky you can have a cuppa whilst watching the chickens. Definitely worth visiting in summer when there are piglets!

Brilliant place to take the little ones to see some real animals up close. No entry fee, and a great farm shop.
