Nestling at the foot of the Malvern Hills, Malvern Theatres is a major centre for the arts in the West Midlands. Home of the famous Malvern Festivals, founded by Bernard Shaw and Barry Jackson in 1929, the theatre underwent a lottery-funded refurbishment in 1997. Hailed both locally and nationally as a model of artistic and architectural excellence, Malvern Theatres boasts one of the most diverse selection of plays, music, comedy, dance, film and education work to be found under a single roof anywhere in the country.

Really enjoyed our visit (Abigail's Party). Lovely auditorium, friendly staff, in one of my favourite towns. We'll be back in the summer. On the downside are the booking fees - just build them into the price of the tickets) and the bar prices were extortionate. I don't care if they are comparable to other theatres, be different and give value... More

We went to see "Abigail's Party" at the Malvern Festival Theatre. The production and cast were excellent and made for a very enjoyable afternoon in very pleasant surroundings. As the play progressed the dialogue got funnier, reaching a very comical climax. Money well spent.

Fantastic venue, comfortable seats with a great view of stage, we were in the circle but have had good views in stalls too. Expensive bar and snacks.

Excellent provincial theatre that is usually well patronised (small 'house' last night). Comfortable, atmospheric and good ice creams at 'half time' Drops one star owing to ridiculous 'Booking Fee' which is totally disproportionate to the price of the tickets being booked. A total rip-off which the management need to address as I am sure some would-be customers would not buy... More

Dear RossAndrews, Thank you very much for review. I'm pleased to read that you enjoyed the production of Mindgame and that you find the theatre comfortable and atmospheric. As a receiving house, it's important to note that we rely heavily on the booking fee to keep our doors open. The shows staged here are not ours, therefore the majority of... More

You walk into an open modern foyer with a bar and a restaurant. The decor is good only surpassed by the quality of the entertainment on offer at reasonable prices. Everything from Shakespeare to stand up comics, films and lectures. This place caters for everyone. Well worth a visit if you are in the Malvern area

Went to see Joseph and his Amazing coloured dreamcoat at Malvern last Saturday. Production, as always was excellent BUT the stalls appeared to be filled with groupies of Jo Mceldrie, the pop star. Every time he appeared on the stage they screamed and cheered. This would have been great and acceptable at a pop concert but this was a musical,... More

Dear Sandy5, Thank you very much for your honest feedback. I'm pleased that you enjoyed Joseph but sorry to hear that you experienced some issues during the performance. On a stay with family in Malvern we went to see Nell Gwyn here at the theatre. The space is also used for local artists and has a cinema inside, a cafe and a theatre bar. It's a beautiful building with disabled parking right outside and a lift easily accessible and stunning views over the park from the theatre level.... More
