Description:

Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor...

Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor Centre, where thousands of people lived and worked in the 1940s. Walk through a masterpiece in landscape design, which is 'Capability' Brown's very first, which has been painstakingly restored for over 18 years from what was once a lost and overgrown 18th century parkland. Explore the park and lakeside to find out what conservation project we're working on this year.

Find Croome Court, the home of the Earls of Coventry, at the heart of the park which has been patiently waiting for its revival. Its time has come this year as the faded house is repaired and reserviced to be able to open up all four floors in 2016. This year explore two floors of un-restored spaces, see what the builders are working on and climb the scaffold for a cup of tea on Sky Cafe.

Don't bypass the airbase museum, of which the visitor centre forms part; there is a lot to see, as well as a cafe which has something of the feel of the 1940s. The house itself has had an unfortunate history, which has denuded it of most of its contents. We were there on a wet November day, so did not... More

Felt compelled to write a review having just returned home from a truly delightful day at Croome. On a Saturday in the run up to Christmas we did expect that it would be busy (which it was) but the parking was very efficiently managed and the volunteers at the entrance were very friendly and helpful despite standing out in the... Visited on a cold sunny Sunday in November. The house itself is interesting, but is still in the process of having lots of work done on it. The grounds are vast, and you could literally walk round here all day!! One surprising thing, is that bringing your dog to walk round the grounds, is positively encouraged and even doggie bags... There are nice walks to have in the grounds but at almost £8 each to enter plus more money if you want drinks etc, it is very expensive. It's Ok if you have plenty of money.

We are NT members and regularly visit our favourite places. Croome's grounds are great to walk round and the gardens have much improved over the last two years thanks to an army of volunteers who are well manged, motivated and encouraged. Not visited the house recently, in fact not since the scaffolding was removed. The history relating to WWII is... More

Being my nearest Nat Trust, Croome is my place of choice on a bright Spring, Summer, Autumnal or Wintery day. Nice indoor/outdoor Cafe, with the usual high Nat Trust prices, £3.70 for a slice of Vic Sponge always seems a tad cheek when I can make an entire cake for about £2.00. However, we do not zoom to Croome for... More

Gardens have been much renovated over the last few years, back to their original design by Capability Brown. Some great walks for family, including dogs. House has also been renovated. The entrance is part of a Second World War airbase buildings, with displays and a large, very good cafe. Easy to spend 3/4 hours, even the whole day.

Croome Court lakeside walk is absolutely amazing right now. Wonderful autumn colours, crisp golden leaves to walk on. On a sunny day there is a gorgeous sunset over the Malvern Hills. Wrap up warm & get over there 😊
