Worth a visit as the surroundings/setting are excellent. Poorly laid out exhibition and out of date exhibits and also insufficient and relevant information regarding exhibits'. There is a room containing a number of gruesome animal artefacts ie old stuffed animals which were not pleasant to look at.

As a free museum, I can't complain. It gave us another thing to do in Aberystwyth but there isn't a lot to see here. Gives a brief history of Cardigan Bay (mainly Aberystwyth) with lots of artifacts and information but all in one room. Good to kill 15-30 minutes, especially in bad weather. But it's free and requires no booking!

Saw this place while wondering round Aber for the day. It was the highlight of my day and absolutely free!! The staff were friendly. The museum has been converted from a theatre and it's very well done, definitely keeping it's charm. There's lots to see and lots on display. The museum has kind of sectioned off little bits to showcase... More

An absolute gem of a place in which you could spend hours browsing and still not see everything. We entered through the Tourist Information Office where we were given a great welcome and fantastic customer service. Currently in the process of adding a catering facility which means we will definitely visit again and the time taken by the staff to... More

First visit to the museum in several visits to Aberystwyth and it was well worth dropping in for an hour or two. Plenty of local history to see, some nice pieces of artwork and a lovely building too..

I visited the museum while staying for a short break and found it absolutely enchanting. The displays are interesting but it is the building itself which is the museum piece, showing a music hall theatre as it would have been in its glory days. As a wheelchair user, there is a lift to all floors, which is very cleverly hidden... More

It is not possible to visit this museum at the moment. It is closed for redevelopment. Pity this information was not available on the online site.
