This is only a small museum but a fascinating one and one where you can tell the volunteers and employees care about the venue and are happy to explain some of the pieces and exhibitions. Lovely little gift shop which sold some fabulous vintage style greetings cards and wonderfully kept gardens surrounding the ruins. Abergavenny is a glorious little Welsh... More

This is a great little museum and it's free! Only has three rooms but they are packed with interesting stuff about the history of the town. From roman history through to the Second World War. Staff were very pleasant. Shame no cafe on sight but good coffee shops are available within a few minutes walk into the town centre. Definitely... More

Lovely ruins of the castle set in stunning ground's with beautiful views. The museum is great for younger children were they can dress up and colour and draw. On a sunny day take a picnic.

A beautiful ruin in the most gorgeous of surrounding. Takes about 20 minutes to walk around and we could take the dog. A nice thing to do if you are filling time.

Just a short walk from the town centre. Visited the castle and museum with my Mum on Saturday. Lovely day to wander around and no admission cost to castle or museum. Good to read historical facts as you walk around. Museum small but worth a look around.

The castle and museum which are both free are within easy walking distance of the pretty town of Abergavenny. They offer a diversion to break up a few hours shopping and a bit of space for a young family to stretch their legs and run about. The grounds are surprisingly big and there are excellent information boards all round with... More

Nice little museum that's free to visit. Some good little exhibits & a lot aimed at children. Interesting old castle ruins as well.. Easy access from the town.

Went here on a sunny April day, the flowers were fragrant and the signage around the ruins was really well described and accurate. Inside the museum, there was a dressing up area and WW2 air-raid shelter which really captured the imagination of our kids.
