We had a glorious afternoon at Plas Newydd. Although it is quite a small manor house, it is steeped in history of the "Ladies of Llangollen" and the oak panelled rooms are quite spectacular. Our guide was informative and very helpful. He showed slides and...More

Plass Newydd is a hidden gem. I've meant to visit it on many stays in the area, but only managed to get there this summer. The history of the house and the ;ladies of Llangollen' is fascinating and the architecture and interior design of the...More

Lovely place to visit in Llangollen. Hidden away above the town. The gardens are lovely to roam and it it is rather magical walking alongside the little river that flows through and below the stone bridges.

Interesting house with a story to tell. Makes you think about how pre-conceptions about the past may be wrong. In this case that life has always been a bit more complicated than our assumptions about Victorian values may suggest. Loved the carvings and decoration. Wish...More

A really interesting house set in a beautiful setting. We went on a red squirrel walk with a guide who was really informative. We were lucky enough to see several squirrels during the day, a first for both of us!

Reasonable walk from llangollen Town to the estate. £6 entry which I thought was very reasonable. A beautiful neogothic interior with a wonderful story of two "great friends" the Ladies of Llangollen. A good walk outside in a wood with a stone circle just outside...More

Great place to visit if you are in the area. A very different house, with many rooms panelled with Jacobean carvings pieced together in a type of 3D jigsaw assembled by the original owners, the two Ladies of Llangollen. The downstairs rooms are fairly easily...More

The house would probably only be around half hour but the gardens and tea rooms would definitely be worth lingering over.

TA description is incorrect. There is a Plas Newydd on Anglesey but this isn't it. This is LLangollen
