About
Ardent Gallery first opened in Brecon on the 8th of December 2004. In July 2009 we moved into this most impressive building dating back to 1589. We display a diverse range of artworks from both local and Welsh artists and artists from further afield. Our varied collection means there is a wide range of artwork to choose from and hopefully something for everyone. We hold a variety of exhibitions throughout the year. Ardent Gallery Open Art is definitely a highlight! A WARM WELCOME IS ALWAYS GUARANTEED and the friendly staff are always on hand to answer any questions and offer any help needed. The business comprises of 2 floors of Gallery. We also house a first class bespoke framing service on site and are able to frame virtually anything! Illy coffee is served in the coffee shop as well as a variation of teas and hot chocolate. Home made cakes by Mairwen Price. Come and see us soon!

A lovely gallery with an interesting selection of art. We took several pictures in to be framed. Gemma was so patient and helpful in guiding us through the process. We have just collected the finished artworks and are so happy with how they look - a fantastic service at a very reasonable price.

Gemma from the gallery has been very kind in advising proactively of availability and opening times. We visited today and made a purchase , but my wife and I were made very welcome and given professional advice to answer our questions eloquently . We were allowed to take our time to peruse the content and also enjoy the experience. Gemma offered to hold and display certain pictures which we had narrowed down in our selection process and view from a greater distance , which provided us an enhanced view from a different angle. We were offered a cup of coffee and a piece of cake whilst we made our decision. Overall made a purchase and we’re very excited to return home from the Ardent gallery having revived top drawer customer service from Gemma. Strongly recommend this lady and the gallery.

I live in Brecon and have visited a number of times to view the excellent art and craft exhibitions, Most recently last Thursday to the preview of the Summer Open Art Exhibition which was of a particularly high standard with some excellent art on view in a very welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I visited ardent gallery the other day to browse around their open art exhibition. It is great that they take in applications from such a variety of artists. It made for a diverse and exciting exhibition. I believe this is the 3rd year they have done an Open Art show, and i hope they hold many more. The space is light and airy, housed in a beautiful old building. The staff are exceptional, Gemma, the gallery manager goes above and beyond expectation and the owners are great. They also have a incredibly high quality framing service and sell artist materials. I enjoyed having a coffee in their quaint cafe area too.

I love popping into the Ardent Gallery when I am in Brecon it has so many wonderful art treasures to view as well as a very good cup of coffee served by the lovely staff. Gemma the Manager always has a welcoming smile and lots of patience and enthusiasm making you feel welcome whether you have come to look at the art or popped in for some art supplies. As it happened when we called in it was the Ardent Gallery Open Art Exhibition, Summer 2019 so we had a great time viewing the entries and picking our favourite I only wish we had more time to stay longer. I look forward to my next visit and highly recommend it to anyone who is visiting the town.

We had been once before, but not for a year or so, and a little dubious about having a look around taking our dog with us. Shouldn't have worried, the young lady was a dog lover, and welcomed us into the Gallery. Inside, a number of floors, full of good paintings, and well laid out and comfortable. it was quite a warm day, and we were very appreciative of the reception we received. Superb coffee made the visit complete. A very enjoyable experience. Many thanks.

I was lucky enough to have my artwork selected by Ardent Gallery for their summer exhibition, so we visited to see it in situ. I visited with my husband and two young children. The staff are cheerful and friendly, it has a lovely welcoming atmosphere - I was worried about taking two young children in but it was fine. Lots of lovely squashy sofas for them to sit on when they were done looking around!
The gallery is spread across 3 floors and work is well spaced out, so you don't feel like you're in people's way when you stop to look! When we went there were mainly paintings/prints etc on show as opposed to sculptures/ 3D art. The collection was varied and interesting!
It is an old building and the stairs were a little precarious for the kids, but they enjoyed looking around at the art!
There is a coffee shop in the gallery too.

Its a great treat to be able to go to a cafe that is also an art gallery, with paintings and other items for sale.
It is also such a treat to go to a cafe that is not part of a chain, where the cakes are home made and the coffee a nice cup size not the soup bowls some place give you. well worth visiting if your in brecon
