I did the sheepdog experience with Ross. It was a lovely experience. Lovely dog Jet and I got to meet the pups ❤️❤️Ross was very patient and so calm and explained things well. I really enjoyed the experience and would like to do it again. Good service from Good days out with all the covid stuff they really kept me informed and nothing was too much trouble . Would definitely recommend

Received a voucher as a birthday gift from my Son and my husband & I were thrilled as we (especially me) love anything pig-related!
We were blessed with a beautiful July afternoon and together with Helena took Holly & Hazel for a leisurely stroll up the lane. Sadly Covid-19 has meant that the ‘girls’ had put on a little lockdown weight and that together with softer trotters from being unable to get out meant they took more of an amble than a walk! Luckily for us it meant we had more time to enjoy these comical pigs who have bags of personality and certainly let you know when they want more to eat!
Helena is very passionate about her animals and was able to give us answers to our many questions.
The afternoon was rounded off with delicious tea, coffee, cream cake, biscuits, juice and strawberries- what more could you wish for! All in all a great experience and a fab idea for a gift with a difference 😁

We booked the Piggy Walk rather last minute for 5 adults. The communication from Julia who helped organise was seamless - the weather wasn't looking too great (typical Wales!), so Julia liaised with Helena, our guide, to arrange a slightly later start time that took advantage of better weather and accommodated us perfectly. Instructions for the walk and directions were sent promptly, and we had no issues getting there using the 'What 3 Words' app. On arrival, we had a comprehensive induction from Helena regarding how to get the best from the pigs and the walk. Throughout the walk, Helena was friendly and provided interesting facts about the pigs (turns out they're celebrities!). The pigs themselves were bigger than expected but were very much gentle giants and their separate personalities really came out and they were quite hilarious. The distance of the walk was quite short, but this was due to the ambling piggies and us spoiling them lots with food! We also stopped a few times for the pigs to rest, showing Helena's true consideration for their welfare, which was perfect for photo opportunities. Afterwards we had a lovely picnic of fruit, cake and tea prepared by Helena on picnic benches under shelter, taking in the wonderful views.
Overall, an amazing experience we would recommend to people of all ages looking to try something a bit different!

Lovely time with the miniature donkeys. We had a short grooming session then took three of the donkeys out for some games (donkey training!). All the donkeys were really friendly, and we loved having a go at getting them to do different tasks (picking up hoops, kicking a ball, going for a run). Thought Julia was brilliant at explaining it all - would highly recommend! Great for all ages.

Excellent review - thank you so much. I'm so enjoying that the Dinks love playing with people and are learning really quickly now. Am building more games so hope you'll come back and see their progress next year!
Kind regards

We got the dinky donkey walk as a wedding present for something different to do and it was brilliant! Julia was so welcoming and knowledgable of her donkeys and we could tell how much she loved them. The donkeys were brilliant, real little characters that knew they wanted brambles! We got to meet them and brush them first. It was a lovely walk up to a beauty spot, with a little picnic and a break from the excitement. Would highly recommend and would return to do it again. :)

Walk a sheep, walk a donkey...walk a Pig....a PIG!!! So the choice was obvious because, who walks a Pig! Apparently quite a few famous folks have done so and you can see why as soon as you meet the pigs! They are cheeky , full of character and often acted more like our dogs than you'd expect from a pig.
A lovely experience topped off by some cake and tea afterwards.
Helena was an excellent host.

We had a fantastic morning with Ross and his trio of sheep herding pooches. After a demonstration from Ross (showing just how in tune he and Roy are--they made it look easy!) we all had a go at working the dogs. The scenery was beautiful and we were mobbed by some gorgeous fluffy faced sheep as we got to grips with getting control of the dogs and the commands. You really get a feel for just how valuable a sheepdog is when working with sheep, and it was really cool to get an insight into how they're trained. All around, a brilliant experience. Thank you Ross, and four legged friends!

Sheep dog experience.
This was a fantastic experience, we thoroughly enjoyed it and learned lots. We were not rushed, both my wife and i were given the opportunity to herd the sheep with the amazing dogs, in a beautiful location. The sheepdog trainer was calm and passionate about the profession, demonstrating techniques and explaining as he went. Friendly and helpful all way from booking to the actual experience I would highly recommend the company and this particular experience. Thanks for a great day!!!

So pleased you had a great time - Ross is not only very talented with training & commanding his dogs, he's also really low key and interactive which is why we love working with him.
Hope to see you back again on another Good Day Out experience soon

An amazing experience was had by all today. The excellent teaching skills of Ross and his unending patience helped us to give commands to sheepdogs Jess and Taff. The dogs followed the commands expertly and instinctively, covering up our lack of skill. Ross kindly allowed our granddaughter to name his pup (who he had brought along),Thank you! We would definitely recommend this day out and we are looking forward to choosing another Good Day Out.

I love donkeys and was excited to do the Dinkie Donkey walk with Maverick & Goose. It didnt disappoint. Started off with brushing them, which i loved. Julia was just amazing, you could see the love for her animals oozing out of her. Great walk with the donkey's, and lovely picnic, great views and lots of pics taken and sent to us by Julia. Also loved the knowledge of edible plants on our walk and of the area. All added up to a fantastic hands on experience. I got a cuddle off Goose at the end, made my day!
Also must mention Julia also found doggy day care for my dog, as struggled to find anywhere myself. So a massive thank you as it meant my partner could also join in.

It says on the website it is £25 per a person, but when I go to buy the tickets the website says there is no cost.
How much are tickets?

Hi Emily, sorry, only just saw this! What were you trying to purchase as I'm afraid none of our experiences are free. It is possible there weren't enough available places so it wouldn't let you purchase.

Is the pig-walking easy to reach by public transport or is a car essential?
Written 10 April 2017
Sorry, looks like my reply yesterday disappeared! The Piggy Walks aren't too near any public transport, but there is a fairly regular service to Libanus, about 5 miles south of Brecon, The walks are at Heol Senni, which is another 5 miles-ish SW of Libanus but you can pre-book a taxi to and from the smallholding. If you would like more details of taxis, or any other queries, please do let us know. Kind regards, Julia
