Heath Park in Cardiff is a wonderful place if you appreciate nature and are concerned about conservation. The great crested newt, which is a rare and protected species of amphibian, breeds in the main pond there. The woodland around the pond has been improved for these creatures with dead tree trunks left lying on the ground so the newts can... More

Great for young children. Several outdoor train and tram rides. A garden railway and large indoor oo gauge railway not to be missed. Disabled access greatly improved in recent months and plenty of seating and catering outlets which have maintained a 5 star rating. Open 1pm to 5pm on bank holidays during the year.

Nice park with a mixture of wooded trails. Also has a large scale model railway. This park also has a car park that offers free parking for two hours, which is great if you need to visit someone at the UHW.

Lots of green and a path to walk on but other than a few wild flowers and a few daffodils in season there is not much else to look... More

We go to Heath park when we are not in a mood for crowds at Roath Park, playground here is much more quieter, also if youre visiting hospital, parking here is free for up to 2 hours so its always good for us when we have outpatient appointments. The only downside off this park is people with dogs, don't get... More

Great place for walks, especially for dog walkers - they love running through Crystal Woods! Nice benches to rest after a strenuous walk around the park too! Lovely areas for children to play and stay safe as their parents can see them at all times. Plenty of car parking and very near bus stops. Ten minute walk to a very... More
